The End of Free Checking? Not at Credit Unions!

Several banks are beginning to turn to checking fees as a source of profit.  Banks are becoming short on revenue because they can no longer charge many credit card fees, and high risk mortgages are no longer available.  However, since credit unions are not-for-profit institutions, many do not charge checking fees.  At a credit union, you are not a source of profit, rather you are a member and partial owner of the institution.  Click here to read more about why you can feel confident that free checking will not become a benefit of the past at your credit union.
